High Performance – The Ghost
The Ghost is one of the first truly high-performance surfboards that works exceptionally well for surfers of all skill levels. It can easily be considered a one-board quiver for any surf trip with decent to quality waves on the forecast.
It has become one of John John Florence’s favorites across a wide variety of conditions, from powerful reef breaks and beach breaks to world-class point waves.
Originally designed for hollower, more powerful surf, the Ghost has proven itself in reef breaks, dumpy beachies, and long point waves alike.
Based off the Short Cut model, the Ghost features a more refined outline with the wide point slightly forward of center, a reduced nose area, and a slightly pulled-in tail to fit tighter curves in the pocket.
Thickness is pushed forward to improve paddling and wave entry, while the tail and rails remain thinned out for control through barrels and high-speed turns.
The rocker is medium to low through the front half for easy paddling and quick speed generation. The rear rocker has plenty of curve for turning control and snappy responsiveness.
A single concave runs through the entire bottom with a double concave nested inside, creating speed, lift, and quick rail-to-rail transitions while maintaining control on rail and across flatter sections.
The Ghost blends rocker and concave to deliver high-performance handling with an ideal mix of sensitivity and control.
Recommended Sizing:
Order your Ghost anywhere from your height to 8" over, 1/4" to 1/2" wider, and 1/8" to 3/8" thicker than your everyday shortboard, depending on intended conditions.
